Location of the Deakin University
Deakin belongs to Australia's largest universities, but because it has five different campuses, sometimes it is overlooked. Melbourne campus in Burwood lies in the East parts, and one can reach the center of the city within 45 minutes with public transportation. In Toorak, where the second campus can be found, is the historical Stonington-Villa among the traditional gardens. Next to the learning facilities you will find the Stonington Stables Art Gallery, and Deakins' art collection. 72 Kilometers away Southwest from Melbourne is the Geelong campus by the ponds on the outer Western part of the historical port city. Geelong is the largest regional center in Victoria. On the shore of the Corio Bay you will find the Waterfront campus in the central economic district. The buildings date back from 1893 and were recently restored to create a modern and impressive campus. The fifth campus is in Warrnambool, the commercial, cultural heart of Southwest Victoria. On the shore of the scenic Hopkins river lies the Warrnambool Campus, probably one of the most beautiful in all of Australia. The 114-hectare campus is extensively planted with native trees and flowering shrubs. You can reach Melbourne in three hours.
