Swinburne University of Technology offers ample choices in courses of study with different degrees, from small programs up to a Master's degree or even a PhD. Students have an opportunity to attend lectures and have access to tutors, internships, group work, interdisciplinary projects, case scenarios, discussion groups, and individual research projects, depending on course. The International Student Advisors (SISA) assist students personally and academically. All international students are automatically members of (SISA).

Swinburne University of Technology's six campuses can be found in and around Melbourne. The main campus, Hawthorn, lies eight kilometers from the city center, in one of the most beautiful areas of Melbourne. Close by, is Glenferrie Road with cafes, shopping areas, book stores, and a grocery store. The Faculty of Design and the National Institute of Circus Arts are on the Prahran campus, six kilometers from the city center. The campus is distinguished for its lively creative atmosphere. Around here students will find restaurants, night clubs, and shopping centers, keeping up with the most modern trends and styles. 40 Kilometers away is the peaceful Lilydale campus, where students can learn in a friendly atmosphere. It lies directly on Lake Lilydale with accommodation options, a restaurant, and research institutions. Nearby is a large shopping center.

City Profile Melbourne


Melbourne has 3.4 million inhabitants and lies in the state of Victoria in southeastern Australia on the Indian Ocean. It is Australia´s second largest city which stretches around Port Philip Bay and has recently been elected as the most livable city in the world. The sea forms the Southern and Eastern borders of the State of Victoria; it has 1.600 kilometers of coastline and tropical climate. Temperatures are convenient; the warmest month is February with 20 °C. Those who love swimming and sunbathing will have as much fun as those who rather want to visit cultural destinations. You can go surfing, swimming or take a walk downtown, for instance to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre or the Victorian Arts Centre. Description:

The "Study Abroad" semester program at the Swinburne University of Technology enables international students to have up to two "free" selection semesters to enroll into any regular Bachelors and Masters university credit course.

The desired courses are to be listed in the initial application, and need to be courses offered at Swinburne University of Technology. Normally, the student receives, along with the acceptance notice, a confirmation of the desired courses.

Applicants to Swinburne University of Technology's semester program are required to have completed high school, or equivalent, and have satisfactory English language knowledge.

In the kitchen you will find an oven, microwave, washing and drying machine. Included in the rent is the charge for gas, electricity, and broadband Internet.

A$ 200 to A$ 250 per week in a two- bedroom apartment, depending on category:(Standard oder Deluxe) and duration of rental contract (18, 22, or 44 weeks)

Swinburne Place Apartments (Lilydale Campus):
Lilydale Campus offers fully-furnished- one to four-bedroom apartments along with a full kitchen and personal bathroom. Internet, telephone access, gas, and electricity are included in the rent. Swinburne Place Apartments are very safe; entrance only upon key card
