California State University, East Bay has two campuses, both on the East Bay Hills: Hayward Hills, from where you have a fantastic the San Francisco Bay, and Concord campus, in the scenic Concord foothills of Mt. Diablo. Moreover, the Oakland Professional Development & Conference Center in Oakland belong to the university, and can be reached easily, as the main campuses, by freeways or public transportation such as the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). Close by, the Hillhopper Shuttle can be used on the Hayward campus free of charge. To reach the large metropolis, San Fransisco, one need only travel a distance of 25 miles.

Hayward is a small city with 140.000 inhabitants, and it is situated 25 miles from San Francisco. You have a wonderful panoramic view from the hills to the bay, and apart from that you can see Fremont, Silicon Valley, Oakland and San Francisco. Downtown there are some shops and a market which takes place every Saturday. There are a few locations for going out in the evening, but a better possibility is to go to one of the larger cities nearby since there are more options available. The climate in Hayward is very convenient since there always is a gentle breeze coming from the Pacific Ocean. Because of that, summers are never too hot and winters are not too cold.

Description: The Semester program at California State University, East Bay, organized by the ALP (American Language Program), enables students to have up to two "free" selection semesters and enroll into a large selection Bachelors level courses.
The final enrollment decision is left to the professors. They take into account the class space and applicant's qualifications.
The American Language Program (ALP) administers and attends to the semester program at CSUEB, due to their vast experience with international students.  CSU East Bay Semester Program

Tuition: US$ 2,500 or US$ 3,802
Included in the tuition are 12 lecture course units (normally 3 courses). Here, the student has two options: Directly choose courses on site (US$ 2,500), or reserve courses ahead of time (US$ 3,802). The advantage in the latter option is that the chances to getting in the course is safe.  Tuition and Fees
Requirements: Applicants to the semester program at ALP at CSUEB must have completed their high school studies and have a satisfactory level of English-knowledge.
This can be demonstrated through a TOEFL or IELTS examination. In case the applicant does not reach the amount of points required by the CSUED or in case they are not be able to take the test due to time reasons, the applicant can only be admitted to the semester program with reservations.
Nevertheless, they would need to take the ALP's In-house English Test in Hayward. The results of this test determine whether the applicant can be admitted to university classes. Should the test results not be satisfying, the applicant has to enroll in the English Program at the ALP. Depending on the result, a combination of English und University classes might also be possible.
